Originally from San Diego, Dr. Rod Samodal completed his residency and Family Medicine specialty in Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, New York, and Pennsylvania, with special interests in Rheumatology, Dermatology, and Adolescent Mental Health.
Dr. Samodal has published research on Immunomodulation of Rheumatoid Arthritis and presented his work at national conferences. He holds a Master's in Healthcare Management from Kings College and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In addition to Primary Care, Dr. Samodal has expanded services to include Urgent Care, Women’s Health, Adolescent Medicine, Sports Medicine, and a Skin Clinic. He currently serves as the Medical Director of a local school district and has been an active Boy Scout leader, mentoring 15 Eagle Scouts. He was named Scout Master of the Year and serves on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts' Five Rivers Council.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Samodal enjoys oil painting, tennis, and mentoring young artists. He also participates in medical missions in the Philippines. His philosophy centers on patient-centered care and community involvement, which is reflected in his work at Neighborhood Family Medicine.
